Singer Jang Beom-jun has decided to cancel his upcoming performance due to widespread ticket scalping issues. In a brief notice posted on his personal YouTube community on the 1st, Jang stated, “We are unable to resolve the ticket scalping problem and have consequently decided to cancel all concert ticket reservations. A fairer and better solution will be sought and announced in the future.”
Jang Beom-jun had planned a small-scale performance for the first time in about two years, following his concert in December 2021. The performance, titled ‘ㅈㅂㅈ Weekday Small Performance,’ was scheduled to start on January 3rd and included a series of 10 shows over approximately five weeks. Each performance was to accommodate 50 attendees.
Despite the small size, the demand for tickets was high, leading to rampant scalping. Tickets, originally priced at 55,000 won, were being resold online at significantly higher prices due to the limited seating and high demand.
In response to the ongoing scalping, Jang Beom-jun warned fans against purchasing tickets through unofficial channels and expressed his concerns. However, as scalping continued unabated, he made the difficult decision to cancel the performance just two days before its scheduled start.
Many fans expressed disappointment but also supported Jang’s decision, acknowledging the necessity of addressing the ticket scalping issue and the negative impact it had on the event
